No projeto GREAT, a investigação será especialmente orientada para o desenvolvimento do turismo em áreas periféricas/remotas, como pequenas freguesias e comunidades rurais, que têm sentido menos impactos do turismo na economia local. O objetivo é estudar o seu potencial turístico e formas de originar novos produtos e experiências nas áreas mais remotas das ilhas, especialmente através do Turismo de Natureza e do Turismo Rural (lato sensu). In the GREAT project, research will be focused on the development of tourism in peripheral areas/remotes, such as small parishes and rural communities, which have felt less impacts of tourism on the local economy. The aim is to study its tourist potential and ways to produce new products and experiences in the most remote areas of the islands, especially through Nature Tourism and Rural Tourism (lato sensu).
