Após uma iniciativa preliminar feita em anos anteriores para caracterizar a ocorrência dos organismos gelatinosos urticantes (águas-vivas e caravelas-portuguesas) nos Açores, estamos agora em condições para apresentar uma proposta mais ampla que permite estudar de forma regular, complementando metodologias clássicas com outras mais inovadoras, a ocorrência destes e de outros invertebrados gelatinosos nas zonas costeiras dos Açores. After a preliminary initiative made in previous years to characterise the occurrence of urticating gelatinous organisms (livewaters and caravels-Portuguese) in the Azores, we are now in a position to present a broader proposal that allows to study regularly, complementing classic methodologies with other more innovative ones, the occurrence of these and other gelatinous invertebrates in the coastal areas of the Azores.
