A operação GenPrOv visa gerar novos conhecimentos sobre os efeitos de genes do eixo somatotrófico na produção e qualidade do leite, persistência da lactação, aptidão tecnológica e no rendimento queijeiro em ovelhas Assaf, ao identificar SNPs em genes candidatos, a serem usadas em programas de seleções da raça, contribuindo para aumentar o conhecimento técnico e científico e a sustentabilidade económica da produção de leite de ovelha no Alentejo. The GenPrOv operation aims to generate new knowledge about the effects of somatotrophic axis genes on milk production and quality, persistence of lactation, technological aptitude and cheese yield in Assaf sheep, by identifying SNPs in candidate genes, to be used in breed selection programs, contributing to increase the technical and scientific knowledge and economic sustainability of sheep’s milk production in Alentejo.
