Celem projektu jest szeroko rozumiana poprawa systemu gospodarowania odpadami komunalnymi na terenie Miasta Zielona Góra. W ramach projektu nastąpi rozbudowa i modernizacja PSZOKu, w zakresie nowych: powierzchni utwardzonych oraz modernizację istniejącego, dojścia i chodniki oraz nowy zjazd z drogi, modernizacji istniejącej rampy rozładowczej, zadaszenia ramp oraz kontenerów, nowej najazdowej rampy rozładowczej, infrastruktury towarzyszącej i niezbędnych instalacji, ścieżki edukacyjnej oraz wyposażeniu punktu w nowe kontenery i pojemniki.
