Przyjęta koncepcja realizacji projektu zakłada budowę elektroenergetycznej sieci inteligentnej na terenie miasta na prawach powiatu Zielona Góra, powiatu nowosolskiego, gminy Nowa Sól i Kożuchów poprzez modernizację i przebudowę sieci, automatyzację linii i stacji w wyniku zastosowania zdalnego sterowania i elektroenergetycznej automatyki zabezpieczeniowej, w tym wskaźników prądów zwarciowych. W projekcie przewidziano automatyzację sieci na obszarze Rejonów Dystrybucji Zielona Góra oraz Nowa Sól. Celem projektu jest zapewnienie efektywnego i zrównoważonego pod względem ekonomicznym i technicznym systemu energetycznego, o niskim poziomie strat oraz wysokim poziomie jakości oraz bezpieczeństwa dostaw i ochrony.
