O programa tem como objetivo desenvolver soluções fotovoltaicas sustentáveis: células solares baseadas em materiais não-críticos e concentradores solares luminescentes baseados em R-ficoeritrina, mimetizando a fotossíntese. A transformação de eletricidade verde em hidrogénio permite mitigar a intermitência da energia solar e a análise do ciclo de vida permitirá estimar a eficiência energética das soluções propostas.
