Os setores de atividade emergentes, como é o caso do Turismo, têm também sido fortemente afetados pela atual conjuntura. Esta realidade assumiu em Sousel contornos ainda mais penalizadores, pois o modelo de desenvolvimento turístico implementado no concelho nas últimas décadas, fortemente especializado na caça, não foi regenerado e atualizado.
