Ο Δήμος Χίου με το έργο αυτό θα ολοκληρώσει τον Περιφερειακό Δρόμο της Χίου. Το έργο θα συμβάλλει τα μέγιστα στην κυκλοφοριακή αποσυμφόρηση της πόλης της Χίου με την εκτροπή της κυκλοφορίας εκτός κέντρου, ιδιαίτερα στις ώρες αιχμής και κατά τους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες. Επίσης, θα επηρεάσει σημαντικά την ανάπτυξη της ευρύτερης περιοχής, με τη μετατόπιση της υπεραστικής κυκλοφορίας εκτός των ορίων της πόλης, που θα έχει σαν επακόλουθο και όλα τα οφέλη που συνεπάγεται ένας καλύτερος, ταχύτερος και ασφαλέστερος δρόμος.
